dies ist ein teil des freskenzyklus in der arenakapelle , welches ist einer von Giotto’s bekanntesten werke . die szene zeigt anbeter, die das jesuskind begrüßen , beschäftigen Giotto’s techniken wie das drapieren von stoff und die emotionen auf den gesichtern der figuren in der szene , sowie die verwendung von three-dimensional techniken , den zuschauern helfen, sich in der szene zu platzieren . eine der interessantesten komponenten dieses freskos ist der stern von bethelehem in form eines kometen, der durch den himmel schießt . es wird vermutet, dass giotto aufgrund von a inspiriert wurde, diesen stern in dieser form zu malen 1301 betrachten von Halley’s Komet .
